Flight Instructor - Global 6000/6500
Leidos, dedicated to enhancing global safety, seeks a skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join our Defense Group in El Paso, TX. This role is integral in shaping the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators, fostering exceptional skill, safety, professionalism, and customer-centricity.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive ground and flight training to U.S. Army personnel.
- Conduct and document flight evaluations, adhering to Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or US Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) standards.
- Proactively manage and monitor aircrew Crew Endurance status, ensuring compliance with DCMA 8210.1D, AR 95-20, and 14 CFR Part 91 regulations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Flight Instructor in developing, reviewing, and implementing Program of Instruction/Syllabus, aligning with U.S. Army TRADOC requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for site interactions with the GFR and other resident USG personnel.
- Act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO).
- Execute aircraft operations in strict adherence to applicable regulations, program/corporate policies and procedures.
- Manage all aircraft movement requests, coordinating PPRs, APACS requests, and ATO compliance.
- Facilitate effective liaison with US Government Flight Operations Personnel and GFR.
- Fulfill flight operations duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 12-15 years of relevant aviation experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship with an active DoD SECRET level security clearance.
- Current passport and a valid state driver's license.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- 1,500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) total time.
- 500 hours of PIC in a Global 6000/6500 aircraft or similar aircraft type.
- Ability to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
- Possession of at least a Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI) and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificate.
- FCC Radio Telephone Operator License.
- Demonstrated experience in US military aviation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CFI / CFII / MEI certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BD-700 (6000/6500 series) FAA type rating.
- CFI / CFII / MEI certification.
- International experience operating in the NAT HLA.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
- 2,000 hours of PIC time.
- 1,500 hours of Multiengine time.
- 300 hours of Instrument (actual) time.
- Rating held for the last three (3) consecutive years.
- Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner.
- U.S. Army Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $122,200.00 - $220,900.00. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data, applicable bargaining agreements, and other legal considerations.
