Highly Qualified Commercial Pilot Flight Instructor (CPL/FI)
Leading Edge Aviation seeks applications from highly motivated and experienced aviation professionals for the role of Commercial Pilot Flight Instructor. This pivotal position requires a demonstrable commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality instruction, and student success within a dynamic Approved Training Organisation (ATO). The successful candidate will play a critical role in mentoring future pilots and upholding the operational excellence of LEAL.
Minimum Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must strictly meet the following aeronautical and operational criteria:
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: A minimum of 1000 hours.
- Instructional Experience: At least 500 hours of instructional flight time, which may include up to 200 hours of instrument ground time.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid EASA or UK CAA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with relevant Flight Instructor (FI) ratings pertinent to LEAL’s training programmes.
- Medical Certification: Possession of a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate is mandatory.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP): Minimum ICAO Level 4 proficiency is required.
- Regulatory Approval: Must be eligible to hold or immediately obtain EASA/UK FCL.900(c) approval.
- Type Rating: Not required, as comprehensive training is provided by the organisation.
- Visa Sponsorship: Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Highly Desirable Attributes
Candidates possessing the following supplementary qualifications or experience will be strongly considered:
- Holder of a dual Licence (both UK CAA and EASA).
- Possession of Flight Examiner (FE) and/or Flight Instructor Course/Examiner (FIC/FIE) qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple training locations or international campus environments.
- Prior familiarity with LEAL’s specific operational systems and learning environment.
- Previous experience in a leadership or deputy management role within an Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
