LeTourneau University is seeking an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor to join its College of Aviation and Aeronautical Science in Longview, Texas. This role will support the university's Aeronautical Science bachelor's program, operating under 14 CFR Parts 141 and 61.

About the Role

The Assistant Chief Flight Instructor will report to the Chief Flight Instructor, focusing on monitoring flight-training quality, conducting stage checks, providing flight instruction, and supervising and mentoring flight instructors. This position plays a key role in the development of flight-training courses and fosters positive relationships within the university community. Responsibilities include participation in various college activities and events, with the position operating year-round, excluding scheduled vacation and paid holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate for airplane single-engine land with an instrument rating.
• Certificated Flight Instructor certificate for airplane single-engine land and instrument airplane.
• Must meet 14 CFR Part 141 experience requirements to serve as an assistant chief instructor for Private, Commercial single-engine, and Instrument certificates and ratings.
• Ability to work effectively with the flight-instructor staff and the LeTourneau University community.
• Commitment to Christian higher education, integrating Christian faith with learning.

Desirable Qualifications

• Commercial Pilot Certificate for airplane multi-engine land with an instrument rating.
• Multi-engine airplane CFI certificate.
• Significant tailwheel experience.
• Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
• Experience creating leaders.
• 121/135 experience.
• Aerobatic or upset-training experience.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certificate.
