Position Overview
Lauda Europe is actively seeking highly experienced and qualified aviators for the role of Captain / Commander. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional leadership, professional standards, and an unwavering commitment to safety while operating aircraft across the European network. This demanding position requires significant command time on heavy, multi-engine jet aircraft, with a specific focus on the Airbus A320 family.
Mandatory Minimum Requirements for Application
Candidates must strictly adhere to the following flight time and qualification criteria. Lauda Europe mandates third-person verification of all logged flight hours.
Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: A minimum of 3,500 hours total flight time.
- Multi-Crew Jet Experience: At least 2,000 hours accumulated on a Multi-crew, Multi-engine jet aircraft weighing in excess of 30,000kg MTOW (Minimum Take-Off Weight).
- Pilot In Command (PIC) Time: A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on a Multi-crew, Multi-engine jet aircraft weighing above 30,000kg. (Note: PIC hours on Turboprop aircraft will not be considered).
- PIC on Type: A minimum of 500 hours as PIC specifically on the Airbus A320 Family, A330, A340, or a combination of hours across these types.
- Jet Time: A minimum of 800 hours on jet aircraft.
Licence, Recency, and Regulatory Standards:
- License Held: Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- License Type: Must possess an EASA Part FCL licence. National Licences compliant with ICAO standards are accepted, though these will require subsequent Maltese TM-CAD validation. (UK licences are accepted for application purposes only). FAA licences are not accepted.
- Type Rating: The Airbus A320, A330, or A340 Type Rating must be currently listed on the candidate’s licence.
- Recency Requirement: The applicant must have operated as Commander on the A320, A330, or A340 within the 36 months immediately preceding the intended course start date.
- Rating Expiration: The relevant A320/A330/A340 Rating must not have expired for more than 36 months (3 years) at the time of the scheduled course commencement (OCC/CCQ).
- Medical Certification: Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate required.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP): ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
Administrative and Legal Requirements
- The candidate must possess the unrestricted legal right to live and work within the European Union (EU).
- Visa sponsorship is not provided by Lauda Europe for this position.
- The applicant must be capable of successfully passing an enhanced background check and fulfilling all requisite national and international regulatory requirements.
