Regional UAV Pilot

Description

Georgia-Pacific is recruiting for a UAV (Drone) Pilot for our UVIP program. The UAV Pilot will work closely with the operations, maintenance, electrical and engineering teams across all Georgia-Pacific facilities to complete inspections utilizing unmanned technologies.

This position will be based out of Brewton, Alabama , with up to 50% travel to surrounding facilities.

What You Will Do In Your Role
  • Perform drone inspection operations pre-flight and post-flight activities and flight tracking.
  • Execute small UAS (and other vehicle type) missions, which will include dust blowdown of buildings, volumetrics, 3D mapping, confined space inspections, videography/photography and others as needed.
  • Post process data captured, create reports, write standard procedures and upload data into the U-VIP data management system.
  • Work flexible hours to execute work on scheduled shutdowns.
  • Continuously innovate and create use cases for drone technology to be utilized.
  • Execute trial missions per trial mission plans
The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of current and new general technology i.e. software, computers, phones, etc..
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe, and Excel
  • Strong desire to scale the drone program and continuously improve its capabilities
  • Ability to have flexible schedule
  • Be in possession of an active FAA Part 107 small UAS certificate
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
What Will Put You Ahead
  • General mechanical knowledge of assets in the pulp and paper industry
  • General electrical knowledge of assets in the pulp and paper industry
  • Experience with video editing software
  • Previous UAV or R/C flying experience
  • Previous experience as a pilot or in the aviation industry
  • Thermography certifications
