First Officer

Aviation professionals are invited to apply for the position of First Officer, a regular full-time role based in Ypsilanti, MI, US. This position, reporting directly to the Chief Pilot within the Flight Operations Department, contributes to the safe and efficient operation of aircraft.

Position Purpose:

The First Officer will work collaboratively with the Captain and crew, utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles to ensure all flight operations adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough preflight inspections of the aircraft and freight.
  • Assisting the crew with all necessary paperwork requirements.
  • Operating the aircraft with strict adherence to established policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Promptly reporting any unsafe condition observed on the ground or in flight.
  • Performing detailed post-flight inspections of the aircraft.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Previous experience under FAR Part 121 is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Language Skills:

The candidate must possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend both spoken and written English, along with the ability to create routine reports and correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate or Restricted Multi-Engine Airline Pilot Certificate.
  • A minimum of 2500 hours total flight time; 4000 hours is preferred.
    • Military applicants: >1000 hours total time, Turbine and PIC time are flexible.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours of turbine (Jet) flight time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) turbine (Jet) flight time.
  • A current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • An FCC Radio License.
  • No restrictions on international travel.
  • A current U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to successfully pass a 10-year security background check, as well as a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Physical Demands:

The selected candidate must be able to:

  • Perform the essential job functions, with reasonable accommodations as needed for disabilities.

Work Environment:

The First Officer will be required to perform duties both within the aircraft and externally, in varying meteorological conditions, which may include extreme cold and heat.
