Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

Candidates must meet stringent qualifications to be considered for this position. A strong foundation in aviation principles and practical experience is essential. The specific requirements are designed to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence and passenger safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: A minimum of 100 hours of PIC time is required.
  • Multi-Engine Experience: A minimum of 1000 hours of experience on multi-engine aircraft is essential.
  • Type Rating: A specific type rating is not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided by the airline.
  • Flight Time Criteria: Applicants must possess at least 1000 hours of flight experience on multi-engine aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 5700 kg. This experience should not have been accumulated solely in the position of cruise relief co-pilot. Alternatively, candidates with military pilot experience are encouraged to apply. A valid type rating for a multi-pilot aeroplane is also required.
  • Recent Flight Activity: Within the 12 months preceding the application date, candidates must have accumulated at least 150 hours of flight time in commercial aviation. Military pilot experience may also satisfy this currency requirement.
  • Required Licenses and Certificates: A Frozen ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License), Instrument Rating (IR), Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) certificate, Multi-Engine (ME) rating, and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) are mandatory.
  • License Holder Eligibility: Open to EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) license holders.
  • Medical Certificate: A valid Class 1 medical certificate is required.
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency: An ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) level of 6 is mandatory.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
  • Additional Requirements: Candidates must possess a valid passport, no criminal record, and no restrictions on international travel. A Radiotelephony (RT) license is required. Training in Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) must be current. A clean aviation history, free from incidents or accidents, is paramount.
  • Language Proficiency: A good command of the Dutch language is necessary. Non-Dutch speakers must have successfully completed a European Framework of Reference B2 level language exam prior to the selection procedure.
  • Educational Background: A senior general secondary education diploma or equivalent, with English, mathematics, and physics included in the curriculum, is required. Equivalency for foreign educational qualifications will be considered.

Preferred Flight Training Background:

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed one of the following flight training courses: KFA, NLS, CAE, EPST, or MFA. Applicants holding a Military Pilot License (MPL-A) from the Royal Netherlands Air Force/Navy are also highly encouraged to apply.
