Minimum Requirements for Applicants:
Prospective candidates must meet the following stringent criteria to be considered for this challenging and rewarding aviation role:
- Flight Experience:
- A minimum of 100 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 1000 hours of multi-engine flight time.
- Applicants must possess at least 1000 hours of flight time on a multi-engine aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 5700 KG. This experience must not have been acquired in the capacity of a cruise relief co-pilot. Alternatively, extensive experience as a military pilot is acceptable.
- Within the 12 months immediately preceding the application, candidates must have accumulated a minimum of 150 hours in commercial aviation, or demonstrate recent and relevant experience as a military pilot.
- Licensing and Ratings:
- A valid EASA Frozen ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License).
- A current Instrument Rating (IR).
- Successful completion of Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training.
- Proficiency in Multi-Engine (ME) aircraft operations.
- Completion of Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
- A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- An ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) level of 6.
- A Radiotelephony (RT) license.
- Certification in Performance Based Navigation (PBN) is required.
- While a specific type rating is not a prerequisite for application, comprehensive type rating training will be provided by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines upon successful selection. Candidates should be suitable for multi-pilot aeroplane operations.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in both English and Dutch is required.
- Non-Dutch speaking applicants must demonstrate proficiency by passing an exam at the European Framework of Reference B2 level prior to commencing the selection procedure.
- Educational Background:
- Possession of at least a Senior General Secondary Education diploma, or an equivalent foreign qualification, including English, Mathematics, and Physics as core subjects.
- General Requirements:
- A valid passport with no restrictions on international travel.
- A clean criminal record.
- No history of aviation incidents or accidents.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates possessing the following qualifications will be highly regarded and may hold an advantage during the selection process:
- Successful completion of one of the following reputable flight training courses: KFA, NLS, CAE, EPST, or MFA.
