Co-Pilot
Job Description
The Co-Pilot is responsible for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo on board, as far as their duties are concerned, and in the absence of the Commander for any reason.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain familiarity with Etihad Airways' Operations Manual to fulfill their function professionally and safely.
- Assist the Commander with administrative duties related to the flight as requested.
- Support the Commander in maintaining a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Execute flight duties in accordance with Etihad Airways' operating policies and procedures, as allocated by the Commander.
- Ensure safe aircraft navigation by maintaining a continuous and independent check on the geographical position of the aircraft, guaranteeing safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conduct the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions when the Commander is not at the controls. Subsequently, notify the Commander of any changes to the current flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC), or geographical position upon their return.
- Provide necessary advice, information, and assistance to the Commander without hesitation to contribute to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.
- In the event of Commander incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight shall assume command.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (1) or high-performance military jet.
- 500 hours on B777/B787.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL. Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Current on B777/B787.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or better.
- In case of hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimums.
- (1) Glass Cockpit: aircraft with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to an Automatic Flight Path and Data System (APFDS).
Salary & Benefits:
- Fixed pay of AED 26,000 per month.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour
- 7-18 years of service: AED 56 per block hour
- Meal allowance during layovers:
- Middle East/GCC/Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance of AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary, up to 3 children.
