About the Role
JetBlue is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a First Officer. The First Officer will support the Pilot in Command in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of turbojet aircraft. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the exceptional JetBlue experience to customers and upholding the company's core values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun, while maintaining compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies.
Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Diploma
-
Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with unrestricted airplane category and multiengine class ratings

1500 hours Total Time (TT), with a minimum of 500 hours in fixed-wing airplanes

Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate

Valid Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Radiotelephone Operator's Permit

Possession of a U.S. passport or a U.S. permanent residence card with a foreign passport and applicable visas, allowing unrestricted entry and exit to all JetBlue destinations. Passports must have at least six (6) months of validity remaining at the time of application and throughout training and employment.

Three reference letters from Pilots attesting to the candidate's flying skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and web browsers (including iOS)

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Complete and continuous fluency in written and spoken English

Ability to think creatively

Adherence to JetBlue Flight Crewmember Uniform Appearance Standards

Knowledge of basic computer and electronic tablet devices

Ability to comprehend guidance in required manuals

Teamwork capabilities to deliver the JetBlue Experience

Availability to work varying schedules, including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, holidays, and last-minute assignments

Possession and maintenance of a valid United States Driver’s License and a driving record compliant with JetBlue Insurance Standards

Successful completion of a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

Legal eligibility to work in the country where the position is located; visa sponsorship is not available.
Qualifications (Preferred)

Bachelor's Degree

Letters of recommendation from current JetBlue Pilots

3500 hours or more of total flight time in aircraft (including turbine helicopter, excluding simulator and Flight Engineer)

Greater than 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) time in fixed-wing turbine aircraft
-
Greater than 1,000 hours in aircraft utilizing Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and/or Flight Management Systems (FMS)

Recent flying experience (greater than 200 hours within the last 12 months)
Job Responsibilities

Assist the Captain in ensuring the safe outcome of each flight in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies

Safely operate the aircraft according to Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies and procedures

Provide an excellent experience for all Customers and embody JetBlue values

Collaborate with fellow Crewmembers and Business Partners to proactively address customer and operational challenges

Maintain skills, training, and qualifications as per Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies
-
Identify and recall JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS), Safety Policy, Security Policy, and behavioral standards
-
Identify and report safety and security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards through available channels, including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (ASAP and SAR)

Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment & Expectations

Work in a normal cockpit and ramp environment as required for Pilot duties.

Frequent ascent and descent of jet bridge stairs.

Exposure to airport environments.

Non-traditional work hours, with shifts covering a 24/7 flight schedule.

Availability to work any schedule, including being away from home for up to six (6) consecutive days.

Potential for extended workdays due to irregular operations.

Regular attendance and punctuality are expected.

Potential need for flexible hours and short-notice availability.

Maintain a professional appearance.

Assist with light aircraft cleaning when time permits during work or travel on JetBlue flights.

Fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS).

Promote safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting SMS components, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards.
