Jet Linx is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Second in Command (SIC) for its Citation XLS+ Gen2 midsize jet aircraft fleet, supporting both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations based in Minneapolis, MN. The successful candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the base area, ensuring the ability to meet a two-hour call-out time to their home base.
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command is responsible for assisting in the meticulous preparation and safe, efficient execution of all company aircraft operations. This role requires strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to the safety and professionalism of every flight.
Required Qualifications
- Total Flight Time: 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Instrument Time: 150 hours
- Ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
- Must possess and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Possess a current passport with unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Successful completion of a FAA Pilot Record Database review process as determined by a System Chief Pilot.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively manage and monitor flight duty periods, flight times, and rest periods to ensure compliance with both company regulations and applicable CFRs.
- Maintain consistent and reliable communication channels with the company for receiving standby assignments, trip notifications, providing position updates, and submitting pre- and post-flight reports.
- Ensure all Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and software applications are properly maintained and current.
- Verify that all necessary navigation charts, operational publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Demonstrate and exercise strong, proactive decision-making skills in all phases of flight and operational planning.
- Uphold and consistently model Jet Linx's core values in all interactions with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Ability to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of initial or recurrent Type Rating training under FAR Part 142 for the Citation XLS+ or similar type within the last 24 months is strongly preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- The majority of work is conducted within and around aircraft and airport terminal facilities.
- Ability to frequently lift and maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds.
