Pilot in Command – Citation XLS/XLS+

Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified Pilot in Command candidates to join its operations, specializing in Midsize jet aircraft. This full-time position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. Prospective candidates are expected to currently reside, or be willing to relocate, within a 2-hour call-out time of the designated home base in Omaha.
Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. This role carries the primary responsibility for meticulously preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. The PIC is tasked with operating flights in strict accordance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and professionalism.
Minimum Requirements
Qualified candidates must meet the following minimum aeronautical experience requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2000 hours
- Total Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total PIC Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 1500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine PIC Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 500 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 300 hours
Essential Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for the Pilot in Command include:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times to ensure compliance with both company requirements and federal aviation regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining proactive communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and submitting comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Effectively maintaining and managing electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensuring that all required navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and accessible.
- Holding and maintaining a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Consistently demonstrating strong, proactive, and effective decision-making skills.
- Embodying and demonstrating Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions and operational activities.
Other Requirements
Additional qualifications and requirements include:
- Initial or Recurrent training (Part 142) in the Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the preceding 24 months is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Authorization to work in the United States (Proof of eligibility required).
- Possession of a current and valid passport.
- Holding an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or demonstrating the clear ability to obtain one promptly.
- Holding a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and willingness to submit to random drug/alcohol testing as required.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and various Caribbean countries.
- Successful release and passing of a FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Ability to work variable shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational scheduling.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent substantial work experience.
- Acknowledgement that the majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Physical capability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
