Position Summary:
The Captain, reporting to the Lead Captain, will be responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights, adhering strictly to company operating policies and procedures. The Captain will exercise pilot-in-command authority, making final decisions to ensure flight safety, security, and overall quality. This role demands a high degree of professionalism and commitment to operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid and current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours pilot-in-command flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours turbojet flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours turbine flight time.
- Minimum of 100 hours night flight time.
- Minimum of 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Unrestricted ability and willingness to travel worldwide.
- Valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine optimal departure times and routes, and make decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other factors.
- Ensure complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary en-route adjustments to ensure continued flight under the parameters of company regulations, policies and procedures.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to all industry and company standards.
- Complete all trip paperwork accurately and in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of flight operations.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies in the designated log, reporting them immediately to the Director of Maintenance, in order to determine if items need repair.
- Ensure that all flight crew members report for duty in appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems and emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging for hangar storage as required.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from an FAA flight service station or other authorized agencies.
- File flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en-route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as per the security program standards.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the Second in Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command, preparing them to assume Pilot in Command duties in emergencies or during their upgrade.
- Complete and send leg manifests to operations control before each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report any identified safety hazards or concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as required, but maintain overall responsibility.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one cohesive entity both internally and externally, including industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to use hands and fingers, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to work in heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer areas. The noise level will vary from moderate to high during aircraft arrival and departure. The employee will be frequently exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The employee must be willing and able to work in varying weather conditions and in a Hangar environment that may be subject to extreme hot and cold conditions.
