Global 7500 Captain - Farmingdale, NY
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain for its Global 7500 aircraft, based in Farmingdale, New York (KFRG). As Pilot in Command, the Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring flights are conducted in compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and procedures. The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and exercises final authority for the safe conduct of each assigned flight, emphasizing safety, security, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure flights are conducted in complete compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary changes based on en route conditions, ensuring continued flight under appropriate guidelines.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork.
- Ensure thorough communication with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record and report all aircraft discrepancies, adhering to MEL guidelines and directives from the Director of Maintenance.
- Verify flight crew readiness and fitness for duty.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed.
- Obtain and analyze weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs.
- File flight plans with the FAA or ICAO as required.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended airports and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as applicable.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings, or delegate the responsibility to the Second in Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for Pilot in Command duties.
- Complete and submit leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Actively support open communication on all safety issues, reporting hazards and concerns immediately.
- Report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 Turbine time
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- Five (5) years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to use hands and fingers, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The Captain must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The Captain may work in heavy maintenance environments and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals/departures. Exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes may occur. The Captain must be willing and able to work in various weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures.
