Position Summary
Jet Aviation is actively seeking a highly professional, flexible, dynamic, and motivated G550 Captain to join its team on a permanent contract. The Captain holds ultimate authority over the safe operation of the designated aircraft and serves as a primary representative of the Company throughout all duty periods. This pivotal role encompasses full responsibility for the safety and well-being of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard, commencing upon the Captain's arrival on the aircraft and concluding upon its secure departure at the end of the flight.
Key Responsibilities
The G550 Captain's responsibilities are comprehensive and include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the paramount safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard the aircraft.
- Providing thorough briefings to all passengers regarding the location of emergency exits and the proper use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
- Adhering strictly to all operational procedures and checklists in accordance with the provisions of the Operations Manual (FOM).
- Confirming that all crew members are positioned at their designated stations prior to take-off, final approach, and landing.
- Prohibiting any crew member from engaging in activities not essential for the safe operation of the aircraft during critical phases such as take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing.
- Ensuring that no flight data or cockpit voice recorders are disabled or erased, unless the data must be conserved for incident or accident investigation and would otherwise be automatically erased.
- Coordinating the distribution of tasks within the flight crew to achieve optimal airmanship and operational efficiency throughout the flight.
- Ensuring precise navigation and rigorous observation of minimum altitude requirements.
- Operating the aircraft within the limitations of all its systems and ensuring its proper use and handling.
- Enforcing the diligent and strict application of all prescribed checklists.
- Verifying that the amount of usable fuel remaining is sufficient to proceed to an airport where a safe landing can be made, while retaining the required final reserve fuel.
- Maintaining close communication with the cabin crew to ensure all cabin safety requirements are consistently followed.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all flight and technical logs.
- Filing written occurrence and accident reports whenever circumstances necessitate.
- Maintaining current familiarity with all relevant aviation regulations, JBJH/JBJS operations manuals, and agreed aviation practices essential to the fulfillment of the Captain's function.
- Upholding the highest standards of discipline, professional conduct, and appearance as a distinguished representative of Jet Aviation.
- Complying fully with the regulations contained within the Operations Manual (FOM) and the Air Navigation Order (ANO).
- Representing Jet Aviation effectively, both internally and externally, including engagements with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and within the broader General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Possession of a relevant pilot license (FAA/EASA).
- Current and valid type rating on the G550 aircraft.
- A minimum of 500 hours of flight experience on type (G550).
- Demonstrated experience in AOC (Air Operator Certificate) Operations.
