Position Summary:

The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights. This role demands a firm commitment to safety, security, and quality, with the Captain acting as the final authority for the safe conduct of each flight. They will ensure adherence to company operating policies and procedures, federal regulations, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate the aircraft, determining optimal departure times and routes while considering weather conditions and other pertinent factors.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and procedures.
  • Adapt flight plans as necessary to accommodate changing conditions, maintaining strict adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct flights in a safe and responsible manner, upholding industry and company standards.
  • Maintain meticulous flight documentation, adhering to established procedures.
  • Foster a thorough understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
  • Record all aircraft discrepancies, reporting them immediately to maintenance personnel and following the appropriate procedures for deferral or repair.
  • Ensure the crew's preparedness, confirming proper attire and mental/physical fitness for duty.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of aircraft systems, including emergency protocols.
  • Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging hangar storage as needed.
  • Acquire and analyze the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs.
  • File flight plans with the appropriate authorities.
  • Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for designated airports.
  • Execute the duties of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator.
  • Conduct passenger safety briefings, or assign this task to the Second in Command.
  • Mentor and prepare the Second in Command for future roles as Pilot in Command.
  • Transmit leg manifests to operations control prior to each departure.
  • Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control at the conclusion of each flight day.
  • Actively support open communication regarding safety issues and report all hazards.
  • Immediately report any hazardous conduct or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
  • Represent Jet Aviation with integrity and professionalism, both internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Falcon 7X Type Rating.
  • Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
  • 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
  • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
  • 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
  • 1500 hours turbine flight time.
  • 100 hours night flight time.
  • 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
  • 5 years of experience in aviation.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules.
  • Unrestricted willingness and ability to travel worldwide.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to use hands and fingers, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The Captain must be able to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds above their head. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:

The Captain will work in a dynamic environment, including heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer spaces. The noise level can vary from moderate to loud, and vibration may be present. The Captain may occasionally be exposed to fuel fumes and should be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions, including potentially extreme temperatures.
