Position Summary:
The Captain reports directly to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of flight assignments. The Captain holds ultimate authority for the safe conduct of the flight, ensuring adherence to safety, security, and quality standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Flight Operations: Safely operate the Falcon 2000 aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and making informed decisions regarding flight cancellation based on weather conditions or other factors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the flight.
- In-Flight Decision Making: Make necessary adjustments to flight plans and routes based on en route conditions, always maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Safety and Security: Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Aircraft Discrepancy Management: Thoroughly document any aircraft discrepancies on the designated log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Crew Fitness: Ensure that all flight crew members report for duty in appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for flight.
- Aircraft System Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Falcon 2000 aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Aircraft Security: Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage when necessary.
- Flight Planning: Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- Flight Plan Filing: File or initiate the filing of flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Chart Analysis: Thoroughly analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and alternates.
- TSA Flight Security: Perform the duties of the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as outlined in the applicable security program.
- Passenger Safety Briefings: Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate this responsibility to the Second-in-Command.
- Crew Training: Impart knowledge and skills to the Second-in-Command to prepare them to assume Captain duties in emergencies or during promotions.
- Flight Documentation: Complete and submit the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure and the End of Day (EOD) report upon completion of each flight day.
- Safety Reporting: Take an active role in the open sharing of safety information, reporting all safety hazards and concerns promptly.
- Hazardous Event Reporting: Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation: Promote a unified Jet Aviation brand image both internally and externally, interacting with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating (Falcon 2000)
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing Time
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land Time
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command Time
- 1,500 hours Turbojet Time
- 1,500 hours Turbine Time
- 100 hours Night Time
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument Time
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions
- Valid Driver's License

Physical Demands:
The position requires the ability to handle, feel, and reach with hands and fingers. The employee will frequently stand, walk, and sit. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer zones. Noise levels are typically moderate, with occasional high volumes during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and may occasionally encounter fuel fumes. The ability to work in all types of weather conditions is essential. The hangar environment can experience extreme temperatures during certain seasons.
