Position Summary
Jet Aviation Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain for Gulfstream G500 (Part 91) operations. The Captain serves as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of company aircraft, bearing ultimate responsibility for the safety of passengers, crew, and the comfortable, timely, and secure operation of all flights. This professional is expected to uphold the highest standards of aviation excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the aircraft's airworthiness and readiness for flight in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Company regulations.
- Supervises the flight crew and all flight and ground operations, ensuring compliance with FAA, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Company regulations during the transport of personnel, equipment, or supplies under various conditions, including day, night, and instrument flight rules.
- Exercises exceptional judgment and care during flight operations, actively monitoring for irregularities and adverse weather conditions, and determining appropriate courses of action to ensure the safety of passengers and company property, which may include delays, rerouting, or flight cancellations.
- Oversees the loading of passengers and baggage, verifying that aircraft performance data, weight, and balance remain within certified limits.
- Coordinates flight planning with operational and scheduling personnel, advising passengers of arrival/departure times and weather information, and addressing other passenger requirements.
- Ensures the proper servicing, storage, security, and protection of company aircraft and equipment while away from home base.
- Issues purchase orders, authorizes fees for contracted services, conducts thorough post-flight inspections of the aircraft, and reports any malfunctions or operating data to the maintenance department.
- Adheres strictly to all directions contained within flight operations manuals and related procedures.
- Participates proactively in the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) and performs other general departmental duties when not engaged in flight operations.
Qualifications
Education & Training Requirements
- Possession of aeronautical experience and education sufficient to demonstrate the required skill and judgment for the role.
- An active FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license with Multi-Engine Land rating.
- A current Turbojet Type Rating.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), Air Traffic Control (ATC) procedures, and aircraft systems.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2,500 total flight hours logged.
- A minimum of 750 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in jet aircraft.
- G-VII experience is preferred.
- International flight operations experience is preferred.
- A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate is required.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work on-site at the Corporate Headquarters - Flight Operations facility, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for weekends, evenings, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
- Ability to travel internationally, requiring a valid passport.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Flight Operations base in Virginia.
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is required by the start date, unless valid medical or religious exemptions apply.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 62 pounds for tasks such as emergency exit window removal, passenger baggage loading via the baggage door, and emergency life raft deployment.
