Position Summary

Jet Aviation seeks an accomplished and highly motivated Assistant Chief Pilot to join its esteemed flight operations team. Based at the Teterboro, NJ facility, this management-level role is crucial in supporting the Chief Pilot and overseeing all aspects of safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations. The Assistant Chief Pilot will contribute to the leadership and mentorship of flight crews, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, reflecting Jet Aviation's commitment to perfecting the art of flight.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assists the Chief Pilot in the overall management and oversight of flight operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations for flight crews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Contributes to operational planning, scheduling, and dispatch, optimizing resource utilization while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Supports safety management system (SMS) initiatives, including incident investigation, reporting, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Conducts pilot line checks, training, and recurrent evaluations to maintain crew proficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Maintains accurate flight records, logs, and other documentation as required by regulations and company policy.
  • May perform duties as a Pilot in Command or Second in Command as needed, ensuring safe and timely execution of flights.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must possess an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with relevant aircraft type ratings applicable to corporate jet operations.
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time, including 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on multi-engine turbine aircraft, is required.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience within a flight department is essential.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of FARs, ICAO regulations, and company standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform duties typical of a professional pilot, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Candidates must be able to operate aircraft controls, climb steps, and lift and carry luggage or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Vision and hearing must meet FAA Class 1 medical certificate standards.
