Jet Aviation Staffing is seeking a professional and experienced Captain / Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Citation XLS aircraft operating under FAA Part 135 regulations. This full-time, commutable position is located in TX, US.

About the Role

On behalf of an external client, Jet Aviation Staffing is recruiting for a Citation XLS Captain / Pilot in Command (PIC) to join their Part 135 flight operation. This role demands a safety-conscious aviation professional with strong leadership capabilities, effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills, sound aeronautical decision-making, and a dedication to providing a superior passenger experience. The Captain will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Citation XLS in strict adherence to all applicable FAA regulations, company policies, and operational procedures. A commutable location within the Central/Eastern Time zone is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pilot in Command of Citation XLS flights conducted under FAR Part 135.
• Uphold the highest standards of flight safety through sound judgment.
• Conduct comprehensive flight planning, weather assessment, aircraft inspections, and risk evaluations.
• Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, company manuals, Op Specs, and relevant procedures.
• Lead and foster effective Crew Resource Management (CRM).
• Liaise with Dispatch, Maintenance, Operations, and other internal personnel.
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of all required aircraft, flight, and safety documentation.
• Cultivate professional and customer-focused relationships with passengers and company representatives.
• Engage in required recurrent training, proficiency checks, safety meetings, and company programs.
• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
• Valid FAA medical certificate.
• Citation XLS/XLS+ PIC type rating.
• Possess the experience and qualifications stipulated by 14 CFR Part 135 PIC requirements.
• Meet all applicable FAA currency, training, and checking prerequisites.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of IFR operations, weather phenomena, flight planning, and pertinent Part 135 regulations.
• Exhibit excellent communication, CRM, and decision-making abilities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Capability to work a variable schedule, encompassing weekends, holidays, and overnight travel as operationally necessitated.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Part 135 PIC.
• Citation XLS/XLS+ flight experience.
• Prior experience in corporate or charter aviation settings.
• A minimum of 3,000 total flight hours.
• A minimum of 1,000 turbine flight hours.
• A minimum of 1,000 multi-engine flight hours.
• A minimum of 250 flight hours in type.
• Prior experience operating under an FAA Part 135 certificate.
