Position Summary

Jet Aviation is seeking a professional Lead Captain for the Gulfstream 550 based in Teterboro, New Jersey. This role serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), bearing ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of assigned flight missions. Beyond flight operations, the Lead Captain acts as a mentor, brand ambassador, and leader, upholding the company’s values of trust, honesty, alignment, and transparency while ensuring the highest standards of safety and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for all assigned flights, overseeing pre-flight/post-flight inspections, flight planning, and weather analysis.
  • Mentor and develop crew members, including coordinating training and conducting performance reviews.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems to ensure precision operations and adaptability.
  • Champion a robust safety culture by adhering to industry best practices and collaborating with maintenance teams on aircraft discrepancies.
  • Manage administrative duties, including trip documentation, manual maintenance, and support for crew hiring.
  • Represent the Jet Aviation brand with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • Certifications: Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and FAA First Class Medical.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of aviation experience with 3,500 hours of total fixed-wing time, including:
    • 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command
    • 1,500 hours Multi-Engine
    • 500 hours Turbo-Jet
    • 500 hours Turbine
    • 100 hours Night
    • 75 hours Simulated Instrument
  • Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Operational Requirements: Ability to work a variable schedule and travel extensively worldwide without restriction.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Operations occur in diverse environments ranging from maintenance hangars to upscale customer spaces, involving potential exposure to varying noise levels, vibrations, fuel fumes, and seasonal temperature extremes.
