Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking a distinguished Lead Captain to command its Gulfstream 500 operations. This critical leadership role entails ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of all flight assignments. The Lead Captain will serve as the Pilot in Command (PIC), upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. What We Are Looking For
Jet Aviation seeks accomplished aviation professionals prepared to lead and excel in a demanding environment. Ideal candidates possess:
- Expert Credentials: Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience, including 3,500 total fixed-wing flight hours. This includes 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC), 1,500 hours multi-engine, 500 hours turbojet, 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night, and 75 hours of simulated instrument time.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a variable schedule to accommodate diverse flight mission profiles.
- Global Readiness: Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Education: A high school diploma is required. A college degree is preferred.
- Licenses: A valid driver's license is necessary.
- Aircraft Qualification: Appropriate and current Aircraft Type Rating.

Key Responsibilities
The Lead Captain will be responsible for:
- Flight Operations Leadership: Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, including conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections, filing flight plans, and analyzing weather and route conditions to make informed decisions.
- Crew Management and Development: Mentoring and guiding crew members to foster professional growth, conducting performance reviews, and coordinating schedules and training to ensure seamless operational continuity.
- Safety and Compliance Advocacy: Promoting a robust safety culture by adhering to best practices, conducting passenger briefings, and collaborating with maintenance teams to promptly address aircraft discrepancies.
- Administrative Excellence: Managing all trip documentation, maintaining aircraft manuals, assisting in crew hiring processes, and representing Jet Aviation with the highest level of professionalism in all interactions.
- Brand Representation: Serving as a visible ambassador for Jet Aviation, exemplifying professionalism and unwavering dedication to the company's mission of delivering exceptional service.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to perform tasks involving regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Candidates must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting. Sharp vision across various ranges and depths is essential. The work environment encompasses a range of settings, from maintenance areas to upscale customer spaces, and involves the dynamic atmosphere of aircraft operations, including potential exposure to high noise levels, vibrations, and fuel fumes. Adaptability to changing weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes in hangar environments is necessary.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $290,000 - $330,000 annually. This range is an estimate, and the final salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
