Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flight assignments in accordance with company operating policies and procedures. The PIC holds the ultimate authority for the safe operation of the flight, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and quality are maintained.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on weather or other operational conditions.
- Ensure all flights are conducted in complete compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary adjustments to flight plans or operations in response to en route conditions, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, meeting industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the Second in Command (SIC).
- Record all aircraft discrepancies, reporting them immediately to the Director of Maintenance or their designee. Determine deferral or repair needs based on the approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and DOM directives.
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty properly attired and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage as necessary or instructed.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies.
- File or ensure the filing of flight plans with the FAA or appropriate ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze en route and terminal charts for intended landing airports and alternates.
- Perform duties as the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under applicable security programs.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the SIC.
- Mentor and train the SIC to prepare them for emergency situations and career advancement.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support open information sharing on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- The PIC may delegate duties but not the responsibility for those duties.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation as a unified entity internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment
Employees will work in both heavy maintenance environments and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volumes during aircraft arrivals and departures. The role involves frequent exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. Employees must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures depending on the season. The general work environment noise level is usually loud.
