Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flight operations. This role emphasizes safety, security, and quality, with the PIC holding final authority for the safe conduct of each flight in accordance with company operating policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed-Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours of Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on weather or other critical conditions.
- Ensure all flights adhere strictly to federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary adjustments to flight operations based on en route conditions, maintaining compliance with company standards.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, upholding industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip-related paperwork according to established procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Second in Command to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all flight aspects.
- Document and report aircraft discrepancies immediately to the Director of Maintenance or their designee, determining deferral or repair needs in accordance with the Approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty appropriately attired and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, including arranging hangar storage when necessary or instructed.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies.
- File flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state Air Traffic Control facilities.
- Analyze en route and terminal charts for destination airports and alternates.
- Perform duties as the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required by applicable security programs.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate this responsibility to the Second in Command.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command to prepare them for emergency situations and future command responsibilities.
- Transmit the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Submit the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively promote open communication regarding safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events immediately to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- While duties may be delegated, the responsibility for these duties remains with the Pilot in Command.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
- Represent Jet Aviation effectively both internally and externally, including with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Work Environment
This position operates in a dynamic environment that includes both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer-facing spaces. The work environment noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volumes during aircraft arrivals and departures. Employees may be exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The role requires working in all types of weather conditions, and hangar environments can experience extreme temperatures seasonally. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
