Position Overview
The organization is actively seeking a professional, adaptable, and motivated BBJ NG Captain to join its esteemed flight operations team on a permanent contract. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. The Captain holds ultimate authority for the safe operation of the designated aircraft and serves as the primary company representative during all flight duties. Responsibilities extend to the absolute safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo from the moment of boarding until disembarking the aircraft post-flight.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the highest standards of safety for all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard.
- Conduct comprehensive passenger briefings regarding emergency exits and the proper use of safety and emergency equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all operational procedures and checklists as stipulated in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Verify that all crew members are at their assigned stations before takeoff, during final approach, and upon landing.
- Prohibit any crew member from engaging in non-essential activities during critical flight phases, including takeoff, initial climb, final approach, and landing, to maintain focus on safe aircraft operation.
- Ensure flight data and cockpit voice recorders are not disabled or erased unless required for incident or accident investigation and to prevent automatic erasure.
- Effectively coordinate crew activities to optimize airmanship and ensure the safe conduct of each flight.
- Maintain precise navigation and diligently observe all minimum altitude requirements.
- Operate within the limitations of all aircraft systems, ensuring the proper handling and utilization of the aircraft.
- Enforce the rigorous use of checklists throughout all flight operations.
- Confirm that sufficient usable fuel is available to reach a safe landing airport, including the required final reserve fuel.
- Foster close communication with the cabin crew to ensure all cabin safety protocols are meticulously followed.
- Ensure accurate completion of all flight and technical logs.
- Submit written reports for any occurrences or accidents as necessitated.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, the company's Flight Operations Manual (FOM), and established aviation best practices.
- Represent the company with a high standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance, embodying the organization's values.
- Comply with all regulations outlined in the Operations Manual (FOM) and the Air Navigation Order (ANO).
- Serve as a professional representative of the organization internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the broader General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements
- Possession of a relevant pilot license (FAA/EASA).
- Current type rating on the Boeing 737 NG and/or 737 MAX.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A minimum of 500 hours of flight experience on type.
- Experience with AOC (Air Operator Certificate) operations.
