The Lead Captain for the Gulfstream 550 (G550) is entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of all assigned flight assignments. The Lead Captain serves formally as the Pilot in Command (PIC), ensuring the absolute highest standards of safety, security, and quality are consistently maintained. The Lead Captain navigates diverse operational settings, ranging from heavy maintenance areas to upscale customer spaces. The role involves adapting to the dynamic atmosphere of aircraft arrivals and departures, which includes occasional exposure to high noise levels, vibrations, fuel fumes, and seasonal temperature extremes in hangar settings.
Physical tasks necessitate regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting, is required. The incumbent must maintain sharp vision across various ranges and depths.
