Position Overview
Jet Aviation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Gulfstream 500 (G500) Captain to join its Flight Services team in Dallas, TX. This onsite position requires a dedicated aviation professional committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and quality in all flight operations. The Captain will serve as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for assigned flights, exercising ultimate authority for the safe and efficient conduct of each mission, while ensuring strict adherence to company operating policies, procedures, and all federal and local regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
The Captain's primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operating the Gulfstream 500 aircraft, determining optimal departure times, routes, and making critical decisions regarding flight cancellations based on prevailing weather or other operational conditions.
- Ensuring that all flights are conducted in complete compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implementing necessary changes as required by en route conditions to ensure the flight continues under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conducting all flights in a safe and prudent manner, in strict accordance with industry and company standards.
- Accurately completing all required trip paperwork in line with current procedures.
- Ensuring a thorough and complete understanding with the Second-in-Command (SIC) regarding all aspects of flight.
- Recording all aircraft discrepancies on the discrepancy log as they occur and immediately reporting these to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or their designee. The Captain will refer to the Approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and, as directed by the DOM, determine if an inoperative item can be deferred or requires immediate repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log as necessary.
- Confirming that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintaining a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including all emergency systems and associated procedures.
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtaining the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from an FAA flight service station or other authorized agency.
- Filing or ensuring the filing of a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyzing area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and designated alternates.
- Performing the functions of the In-flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the twelve-five standard security program or private charter standard security program, as applicable.
- Conducting required passenger safety briefings or assigning that duty to the Second-in-Command.
- Imparting knowledge and skills to the Second-in-Command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot-in-Command in an emergency or during their upgrade to PIC for that aircraft.
- Completing and sending the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Completing and sending the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Making an immediate report of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Understanding that while duties may be delegated, the ultimate responsibility for those duties remains with the Pilot-in-Command.
- Representing Jet Aviation as one company, both internally and externally, with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and within the General Dynamics network.
- Performing other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate aircraft type rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Turbojet.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Turbine time.
- A minimum of 100 hours Night.
- A minimum of 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional aviation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role necessitates the ability to operate effectively within both heavy maintenance environments and upscale customer areas. The Captain will encounter varying noise levels, from moderate to loud, with occasional exposure to aircraft vibrations and fuel fumes. The ability to work in all types of weather conditions and adapt to potentially extreme temperatures within hangar environments is required. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally overhead is also necessary, along with specific vision requirements vital for flight operations, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Aviation offers a highly competitive compensation package for this Captain position, with a likely salary range of $300,000 - $320,000. This range is not a guarantee of compensation; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and other pertinent qualifications.
