Position Summary:

Jet Aviation seeks an experienced Pilot in Command for a Falcon 900EX based in Kenosha, WI. Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of assigned flights, prioritizing safety, security, and quality above all. The Captain exercises ultimate authority for the safe operation of the aircraft during all flight assignments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Falcon 900EX safely, determining departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on operational needs and conditions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement necessary changes based on en route conditions to ensure flights proceed in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
  • Complete all trip paperwork accurately and in accordance with current procedures.
  • Ensure thorough communication and understanding with the Second in Command regarding all flight aspects.
  • Record all aircraft discrepancies, report them promptly to the Director of Maintenance or designee, and determine deferral or repair based on the MEL and DOM guidance.
  • Verify that the flight crew is properly attired and physically and mentally fit for duty.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
  • Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary or as instructed by management.
  • Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies.
  • File or ensure filing of flight plans with appropriate air traffic control facilities.
  • Analyze all relevant charts for the destination and alternate airports.
  • Perform the duties of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator as required by applicable security programs.
  • Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty.
  • Mentor the Second in Command, imparting knowledge and skills to prepare them for emergency situations or future upgrade.
  • Complete and submit leg manifests and End of Day reports as required.
  • Actively support safety initiatives, sharing information and reporting hazards or concerns.
  • Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
  • May delegate duties but retains full responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
  • 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
  • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
  • 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
  • 1500 hours Turbine flight time.
  • 100 hours Night flight time.
  • 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
  • 5 years of aviation experience.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules.
  • Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without restrictions.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:

The role requires physical exertion including using hands to handle or feel, reaching, standing, walking, and sitting. Occasionally involves climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds above head. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment encompasses both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer spaces. Noise levels are typically moderate but can be high near aircraft. Frequent exposure to vibration occurs, and occasional fuel fumes may be present. The employee must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. The hangar environment can experience extreme temperatures depending on the season. Noise in the hangar is usually loud.
