Gulfstream 550 Captain
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly qualified and experienced Captain for a Gulfstream 550 based in Knoxville, Tennessee (Alcoa, TN). This is an onsite position within the Flight Services division, offering a challenging and rewarding career for a dedicated aviation professional.
The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. The Captain exercises Pilot-in-Command authority on all assigned flights and serves as the final authority for ensuring flight safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and making flight cancellation decisions based on weather and other relevant conditions.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary changes to maintain safe flight operations under varying en-route conditions.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligned with industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the Second-in-Command.
- Record and report aircraft discrepancies promptly to the Director of Maintenance.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in appropriate attire and are fit for duty.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems and emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage as needed or instructed.
- Obtain and analyze current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs.
- File flight plans with the FAA or ICAO ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as applicable.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second-in-Command to prepare them for Pilot-in-Command duties.
- Complete and submit leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on safety issues and report all hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license.
