Gulfstream 550 Captain
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain for a Gulfstream 550 based in Burbank, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. As Pilot in Command, they will exercise final authority for the safe conduct of each flight. This is an onsite position within the Flight Services category, ideal for a seasoned aviation professional.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather and other conditions.
- Ensure flight operations are in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Adapt to en route conditions and institute necessary changes while maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Ensure thorough communication with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight.
- Record and report aircraft discrepancies promptly, utilizing the approved MEL and consulting with maintenance personnel.
- Verify that the flight crew is properly attired and fit for duty.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed or instructed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs.
- File flight plans with the FAA or ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the intended airport and alternates.
- Fulfill the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as applicable.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate the duty to the second in command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them for Pilot in Command duties.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest and End of Day (EOD) report to operations control.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues, reporting all hazards and concerns immediately to the chief pilot and director of safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- Five years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.
