Gulfstream 500 Captain
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Captain for a Gulfstream 500, based in Dallas, TX. The Captain will report to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures with an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and quality. The Captain exercises Pilot in Command authority on all assigned flights and holds ultimate responsibility for the safe conduct of each flight. This is an onsite position requiring a flexible work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on prevailing conditions.
- Ensure flight operations are conducted in full compliance with all applicable federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary changes dictated by en route conditions to maintain flight integrity under company guidelines.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip-related paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure comprehensive communication with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance or designee, adhering to the approved MEL.
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty in appropriate attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as deemed necessary or as instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from an FAA flight service station or authorized agency.
- File or ensure the filing of a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable security program.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the Second in Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for Pilot in Command duties in an emergency or future upgrade.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as appropriate, while retaining ultimate responsibility.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals/departures. Exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes may occur. The employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures during certain seasons.
Compensation:
The likely salary range for this position is $290,000 – $310,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and other factors.
