Jet Aviation Seeks Experienced Captain
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join its Flight Services team. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional with a passion for excellence and a commitment to safety, security, and quality. The Captain will be based in Richmond Heights, OH, and will operate in an onsite capacity.
Position Summary:
The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. The Captain exercises Pilot-in-Command authority on all assigned flights and is the final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure flights are conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary changes as required by en route conditions to ensure continued flight under appropriate company guidelines.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log and immediately report them to the Director of Maintenance or designee. Determine if inoperative items can be deferred or need repair, referring to the approved MEL as directed.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed or instructed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from an FAA flight service station or authorized agency.
- File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the intended airport of landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable security program.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign the duty to the Second in Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them to assume Pilot in Command duties in emergencies or upon upgrade.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to operations control before each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties while maintaining responsibility for their execution.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command.
- 1500 hours Turbojet.
- 1500 Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules.
- Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
