Captain - Falcon 900
Jet Aviation is seeking a qualified and experienced Captain to pilot its Falcon 900 aircraft, based in Farmingdale, New York. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Captain and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. The Captain will exercise Pilot-in-Command authority on assigned flights and serve as the final authority for the safe conduct of each flight.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times, routes, and canceling flights based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure flights are conducted in full compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary changes required by en route conditions, ensuring flights continue under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, according to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork per current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding with the Second-in-Command regarding all aspects of flight.
- Record aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log, immediately reporting them to the Director of Maintenance or designee.
- Determine if the inoperative item can be deferred or requires repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log accordingly.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from an FAA flight service station or authorized agency.
- File a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC).
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the Second-in-Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second-in-Command to prepare them for Pilot-in-Command duties.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues, reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties, but not the responsibility for those duties.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- Five years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license.
