Gulfstream 500 Captain
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a qualified and experienced Captain to pilot a Gulfstream 500 aircraft. This position is based in Opa-locka, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and exercises Pilot-in-Command authority for all assigned flights, holding final authority for the flight's safe conduct. He or she will also represent Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the aircraft safely, determining departure times and routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellation due to weather or other conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and policies.
- Institute necessary changes to flight plans based on en route conditions, adhering to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork.
- Ensure thorough understanding with the Second-in-Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record aircraft discrepancies and report them to the Director of Maintenance or designee.
- Verify that the flight crew is properly attired and physically and mentally fit for duty.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed or instructed.
- Obtain and analyze weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS.
- File flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC).
- Conduct passenger safety briefings.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second-in-Command.
- Complete and send leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on safety issues, reporting hazards and concerns.
- Report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours turbine time.
- 100 hours night flight time.
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license.
