Jet Aviation - Captain - Gulfstream 450
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain to operate a Gulfstream 450, based in Santa Ana, California. This pivotal role within Flight Services requires a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to safety, security, and quality. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Captain and exercise full pilot-in-command authority, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the aircraft safely, determining optimal departure times and routes, while adhering to all federal, local, and company regulations.
- Make necessary adjustments based on en-route conditions, ensuring continued compliance with company policies.
- Maintain a complete and current understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Complete all trip paperwork accurately, and ensure the second-in-command is fully briefed on all aspects of the flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies and report them promptly to the Director of Maintenance.
- Ensure the flight crew is fit for duty and properly attired.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage when necessary.
- Obtain and analyze weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS, and file flight plans.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended landing locations and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator as required.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings.
- Mentor the second in command, preparing them for future pilot-in-command responsibilities.
- Complete and send leg manifests and end-of-day reports to operations control.
- Actively support safety initiatives, reporting all hazards and concerns.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally within the aviation community and the General Dynamics network.
- Additional duties may be required as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- Five years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:
This role requires physical dexterity including reaching, handling, and feeling with hands and fingers. The candidate must frequently stand, walk, or sit, and occasionally climb, balance, kneel, or crawl. They must also be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The role also requires specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The role is based in both a maintenance environment and customer areas, with moderate to high noise levels. Occasional exposure to vibrations and fuel fumes may occur. The employee should be willing and able to work in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
