Lead Captain – Aviation Leadership Opportunity
Jet Aviation Staffing, a leader in aviation recruitment since 1983, seeks a highly accomplished and dynamic Lead Captain to oversee all aspects of flight department operations. This pivotal role demands a blend of exceptional piloting skills and strong leadership capabilities, requiring a 50/50 split between flight duties and administrative responsibilities. The position offers a remote work arrangement based in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage flight personnel, encompassing performance reviews, recruitment, mentorship, and salary administration.
- Oversee all aspects of pilot training, scheduling, and professional development, including currency maintenance, line checks, and continuing education programs.
- Effectively coordinate flight crew schedules, vacations, and operational needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) for assigned aircraft, maintaining rigorous adherence to crew qualification standards.
- Lead flight department audits and IS-BAO recertification processes, ensuring compliance and safety standards.
- Manage comprehensive flight department reporting, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of all operational data.
- Efficiently oversee diverse flight requests, guaranteeing complete adherence to client requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with Maintenance Management to ensure aircraft are impeccably maintained, serviced, and cleaned.
- Actively participate in professional development activities, including industry conferences and leadership training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- ATP certification with a valid Corporate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 7000 hours of total fixed-wing flight time.
- 7-10 years of extensive aviation experience.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in flight department management, encompassing scheduling, training, and operational oversight.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
