Position Summary:
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and safety-oriented Captain to join our team in Carolina, Puerto Rico. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Gulfstream GIV aircraft, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Reporting to the Lead Captain, the successful candidate will exercise Pilot in Command authority on all assigned flights, prioritizing safety, security, and quality at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-flight checks, determine departure times and routes, and make informed decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other safety considerations.
- Maintain unwavering adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the duration of each flight.
- Adapt to changing en route conditions and implement necessary adjustments to ensure the flight proceeds safely and in accordance with company protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed trip paperwork following established procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Second in Command, ensuring a shared understanding of all aspects of the flight.
- Diligently document and report any aircraft discrepancies, collaborating with the Director of Maintenance to determine appropriate actions.
- Verify that all flight crew members are properly attired, mentally prepared, and physically fit for duty.
- Possess and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures specific to the Gulfstream GIV.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary.
- Obtain and analyze the most up-to-date weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- File flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facilities.
- Conduct thorough briefings on passenger safety procedures or delegate the responsibility to the Second in Command.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to assume Pilot in Command duties when required.
- Complete and submit all required documentation, including leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports, to Operations Control in a timely manner.
- Proactively contribute to a culture of safety by openly sharing information, reporting hazards, and addressing concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate tasks as needed while retaining overall responsibility for their successful completion.
- Serve as a Brand Ambassador, representing Jet Aviation with integrity and professionalism in all interactions with industry partners, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with a valid Gulfstream GIV Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours of total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours of multi-engine land experience.
- 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command experience.
- 1,500 hours of turbojet experience.
- 1,500 hours of turbine aircraft experience.
- 100 hours of night flying experience.
- 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument experience.
- 5 years of aviation industry experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role requires physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working in various weather conditions, and adapting to a dynamic hangar environment with potential exposure to noise, vibration, and occasional fuel fumes.
