Position Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft, adhering to the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. As the ultimate authority on board, the Captain will make critical decisions regarding flight operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- FAA First Class Medical (obtain and maintain)
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land experience
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command experience
- 1500 hours Turbojet experience
- 1500 hours Turbine time
- 100 hours Night flying experience
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument experience
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Flexibility to work varied schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide, without restriction
- Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute safe and efficient aircraft operations, making informed decisions regarding departure times, routes, and potential flight cancellations based on weather and other factors.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout flight operations.
- Implement necessary adjustments to flight plans based on en route conditions, maintaining adherence to company policies and industry standards.
- Meticulously complete all trip paperwork, adhering to established procedures.
- Maintain open and clear communication with the Second in Command, ensuring a shared understanding of all aspects of the flight.
- Diligently record aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance or designated personnel.
- Evaluate the fitness of flight crew for duty, ensuring proper attire and mental and physical readiness.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures, for the aircraft type operated.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage when necessary.
- Obtain and analyze the latest weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized sources.
- File flight plans with appropriate authorities.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight analysis of area, enroute, and terminal charts for destination and alternate airports.
- Fulfill the role of In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under relevant security programs.
- Conduct or delegate passenger safety briefings.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command responsibilities.
- Complete and submit required flight documentation to operations control.
- Proactively participate in safety initiatives, reporting hazards and concerns promptly.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties while retaining ultimate responsibility for their successful completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally in all interactions, both internally and externally.
