Lead Captain – Global 6000
Location: Opa-locka, FL
Jet Aviation seeks a highly experienced and skilled Lead Captain to command its Global 6000 aircraft based in Opa-locka, Florida. This crucial role demands an individual committed to the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and professional conduct. The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Chief Pilot.
Responsibilities:
The Lead Captain will exercise ultimate authority for the safe conduct of all assigned flights, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, local, and company regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Safe and efficient aircraft operation, including flight planning and decision-making regarding departures, routes, and cancellations based on prevailing conditions.
- Comprehensive oversight of flight crew operations, scheduling, and training, including coordination with maintenance personnel and customer service representatives.
- Meticulous maintenance of flight records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Effective management of aircraft maintenance, coordinating servicing and cleaning with the Maintenance Manager.
- Mentoring and coaching of crew members to foster professional development, conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Proactive participation in safety initiatives, including prompt reporting of all hazards and concerns.
- Representing Jet Aviation professionally in interactions with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
- Ensuring the aircraft is prepared for safe and efficient flight including the completion of all trip paperwork, discrepancy logs, flight plan filings, safety briefings, and the timely submission of all required reports. This also includes proactive planning and analysis of route information. Finally, acting as the TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) is required.
Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Global 6000 Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- Minimum 2000 hours pilot-in-command time.
- Minimum 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours turbine time.
- Minimum 100 hours night flight time.
- Minimum 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- Minimum 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and extensive international travel without restriction.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds. The role involves working in diverse environments, including aircraft hangars (potentially extreme temperatures) and upscale customer areas, and exposure to moderate to high noise levels, vibration, and occasional fuel fumes.
