Captain Global 6000 - Hartford, Connecticut (KBDL)
Jet Aviation, a renowned leader in aviation services since 1967, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join its team in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. As an integral part of the Flight Services department, the Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Global 6000 aircraft, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and company standards.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Pilot in Command will exercise ultimate authority over all assigned flights, prioritizing safety, security, and quality. The individual will be responsible for determining departure times and routes, as well as cancelling flights due to weather or other conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate (current and maintained)
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing Time
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land Time
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command Time
- 1,500 hours Turbojet Time
- 1,500 hours Turbine Time
- 100 hours Night Time
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument Time
- 5 years of Aviation Experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions
- Valid driver's license
Main Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of the aircraft in accordance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Implementation of necessary changes to flight plans as required by en route conditions
- Adherence to industry and company standards for safe and prudent flight operations
- Accurate completion of all trip paperwork as per current procedures
- Thorough and complete understanding of all aspects of flight operations with the second in command
- Recording and reporting of all aircraft discrepancies, including determination of deferral or repair requirements as per the approved MEL and in consultation with the Director of Maintenance
- Ensuring the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage when necessary
- Obtaining current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized sources
- Filing or ensuring the filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facility
- Analyzing area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates
- Performing the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the applicable security program
- Conducting or assigning passenger safety briefings to the second in command
- Imparting knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or during an upgrade
- Completing and sending the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure
- Completing and sending the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day
- Active participation in safety information sharing and reporting of all safety hazards and concerns
- Immediate reporting of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety
- Delegation of specific duties while maintaining responsibility for their execution
- Other duties as assigned
- Representation of Jet Aviation as a cohesive entity internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network
Desired Characteristics:
- College Degree (preferred)

Physical Demands:
The position requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, as well as occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The incumbent will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. The position also requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes a mix of heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer zones. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee will be frequently exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The ability to work in all types of weather conditions is essential. The hangar environment may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures during certain seasons of the year.
