About the Role

JSX, a lifestyle carrier, is seeking a Quick Upgrade Captain to operate aircraft safely and efficiently across various locations including White Plains, NY; Burbank, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; and Dallas, TX. This full-time position emphasizes a strong work-life balance, with typical schedules averaging 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days per month, aiming for return to home base nightly. The role involves ensuring compliance with all regulations, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit within an innovative aviation environment.

About the Aircraft

The Quick Upgrade Captain will operate JSX aircraft, contributing to one of the industry's most innovative aviation experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-flight preparation including reviewing flight details (maintenance, NOTAMs, fuel, weather, routing) and performing required checks and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Captain on departure/arrival strategies and diversion planning.
  • Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards.
  • Maintain real-time communication with Mission Control, Ground Operations, ATC, and the Flight Attendant.
  • Act as secondary decision-maker to the Captain in dynamic conditions.
  • Assist with post-flight duties including light cabin tidying and logging maintenance.
  • Participate in recurrent training and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with baggage handling and other duties at airports with limited ground support.
  • Represent JSX with high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer focus.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 2500 fixed-wing total flight hours.
  • Minimum 500 multi-engine hours.
  • Minimum 500 hours turbine Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Minimum 100 hours flown within the last 12 months.
  • No FAA violations, accidents, incidents, or suspensions.
  • No significant training or check ride failures.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Experience

  • 3000+ total flight hours.
  • 1000+ multi-engine hours.
  • Embraer 135/145 experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid FAA Pilot Certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position.
  • Current and valid Driver’s license and Passport.
  • Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Current and valid ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate.
  • Current and valid FCC Radio Operator’s Permit.
