About the Role

JSX seeks an innovative and dedicated Quick Upgrade Captain to operate aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to all regulations and delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic aviation experience with a focus on work-life balance, aiming to return pilots to their home base nightly. Typical schedules involve 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days per month.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-flight preparation, including reviewing flight details, discussing strategies with the Captain, and performing safety checks.
  • Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards.
  • Maintain real-time communication with Mission Control, Ground Operations, ATC, and Flight Attendant.
  • Act as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making and respond to dynamic conditions.
  • Assist with post-flight duties, including light cabin tidying and logging maintenance.
  • Participate in recurrent training and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with baggage handling and other duties at airports with limited ground support.
  • Represent JSX with the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2500 fixed-wing total flight hours.
  • Minimum 500 multi-engine hours.
  • Minimum 500 turbine hours.
  • Minimum 100 flight hours within the last 12 months.
  • No FAA violations, accidents, incidents, or suspensions.
  • No significant training or check ride failures.

Preferred Experience

  • 3000+ total flight time.
  • 1000+ multi-engine hours.
  • Embraer 135/145 experience.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid FAA Pilot Certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position.
  • Current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Current and valid Passport.
  • Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Current and valid ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate.
  • Current and valid FCC Radio Operator’s Permit.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $150.00 (+ per diem) daily during training, increasing to $259.00 (+ per diem) daily on the line. Guaranteed 14-day minimum monthly salary. Eligibility for Productivity Pay and quarterly bonuses.
