Inter Island Airways is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dornier 228 Captain to join its airline crew. The position is based at the airline's home base and primary hub at Pago Pago International Airport.
As a certified United States commercial airline by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under Part 135 rules and regulations, and holding Commuter Air Carrier Authorization from the US Department of Transportation, Inter Island Airways operates a fleet including the versatile 19-seater Dornier 228-212 aircraft.
The Captain will be responsible for safely operating the Dornier 228-212 aircraft on various missions across the Samoan Islands. Duties encompass conducting scheduled and charter passenger and cargo services, as well as participating in diverse operations such as aerial surveillance, Air Ambulance missions, emergency medical evacuations, and providing support for pre and post-natural disaster recoveries. The airline serves routes including those to and from Pago Pago and Apia/Faleolo, and between Pago Pago and the Manu'a Islands of Fitiuta, Ofu, and Olosega.
Candidates must possess a current and valid FAA license and ratings required for this position. The airline performs heavy and light aircraft maintenance at its Hangar facilities located at Pago Pago International Airport, ensuring aircraft are well-maintained for safe and efficient operations.
