Duties & Responsibilities

The central purpose of the Hytrol Pilot position is to ensure that every flight operating out of the Part 91 Hytrol Aviation department is continuously conducted safely, in compliance with all FAA and other government regulations, in conformance with operational specifications, and ultimately with the highest level of passenger satisfaction in mind, while demonstrating Hytrol’s Core Values of Faith, Family, Empathy, Commitment, Gratitude, and Community.

The Pilot is a critical role in the 3-person department. The company aircraft is a Lear 40 and flies approximately 200-250 hours per year to various destinations. Most trips are day trips, but the job will require some overnight and multi-night stays.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform flight duties as Pilot in Command and Co-Pilot on the Lear 40 as required
Assist with managing overall operation of the aviation department including development, communication, and implementation of policies and procedures

Participate in peer evaluation annually
Assist with compiling data and development of the annual and mid-year budget

Assist in managing the rotation of vacation and training and securing contract pilots to cover flights during those times when a Hytrol pilot is out

Coordinate aircraft maintenance with the mechanic and flight schedule
Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations
Maintain all record keeping, including those that FAA and Hytrol requires

Ensure aircraft airworthiness documents, checklists, publications, and databases are continually up to date including maintenance and inspection records, and are properly located in the aircraft

Establish and maintain a close working relationship with the FAA
Prepare and maintain all pilot training, flight and duty and proficiency records
Must verify that the aircraft is current with all federal and local requirements
Interact with the passengers in a way that demonstrates the Hytrol Core Values



Education and General Qualifications Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
Must have current flight certificates with 3000 total flight hours, 1000 hours multi-engine, 750 turbo jet and Lear experience a plus.


Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and requirements
Requires 3+ years of managerial experience and thorough knowledge of the sub-functions of the department

Extensive knowledge of FARs, ACs, SAFO/InFO, and FSIMS 8900
Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Ability to work in a team environment across all levels of the organization is essential
Strong time management and planning skills

Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal aptitude with a professional demeanor
Ability to prepare and complete reports pertaining to department and position


Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record with no accidents or violations in the past 3 years

Current first-class medical certificate

This is an exempt position. This position may require working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays to accommodate the needs of the customers and department operations

This position requires signing the Pilot contract which includes agreeing to devote his or her entire productive time and attention to the business of Hytrol. The Pilot agrees to not directly or indirectly engage in any other business, either as an employee, employer, consultant, principal, officer, director, advisor, or in any other capacity with or without compensation, without the prior written approval from Hytrol’s President and CFO.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Hytrol Conveyor Company is a zero-tolerance drug free employer, including pre-employment and random drug screening.
