Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the Senior Captain serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC) with final authority and responsibility for the safe operation of the aircraft. This role encompasses the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo. The Senior Captain is expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and safety as defined by Federal Aviation Regulations, the Flight Department, and company policies, while supporting organizational objectives through risk assessment and efficient operational management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a culture of safety and operational efficiency while supporting company customer service policies.
  • Provide leadership to the flight crew, ensuring all members possess a clear understanding of their specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness and ensure all required documentation is on board.
  • Exercise final authority regarding flight commencement, delays, cancellations, or deviations based on operational conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive briefings covering flight purpose, weather, operating procedures, and specific instructions.
  • Inspect aircraft for defects pre-flight and ensure weight distribution and fuel quantities adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of flight plans, factoring in aircraft performance, route, altitude, terrain, weather, range, NOTAMs, and navigational aids.
  • Ensure all passengers receive appropriate safety briefings for each phase of flight.
  • Confirm the presence of emergency equipment and passenger comfort provisions, ensuring all cargo is secured.
  • Maintain accurate flight logs and company tracking forms.
  • Communicate maintenance discrepancies to personnel and provide updates on aircraft status.
  • Operate company, personal, or rental vehicles as required for business duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification with Airplane, Multiengine Land Rating.
  • Minimum of 5,000 hours of total pilot flight time.
  • Minimum of 2,500 hours of multiengine turbine time.
  • Prior experience in aircraft requiring two pilots (Crew Concept).
  • Current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit (FCC).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Excellent CRM skills and subject-matter expertise in the aviation field.
  • Ability to successfully complete a type rating course for current company aircraft.
  • Proficiency in English (written and oral).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds overhead.
  • Commitment to a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass drug, background, and motor vehicle record screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience operating large-cabin aircraft.
  • Zero FAA accidents, incidents, or violations.
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
