Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the Senior Captain holds command authority and primary responsibility for the safe and secure operation of the aircraft. This role encompasses the safety of all crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring that all operations align with Federal Aviation Regulations, Flight Department standards, and company policies. The Senior Captain exercises final decision-making authority, manages risk assessments, and ensures the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency are maintained in support of company goals.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safety-first culture while ensuring efficient procedures that support customer service and company policies.

Direct flight crew activities and ensure a comprehensive understanding of individual duties and responsibilities.

Verify aircraft airworthiness and ensure all required documentation is onboard prior to departure.

Exercise final authority regarding flight commencement, delays, cancellations, or destination deviations based on operating conditions.

Provide detailed briefings regarding flight objectives, weather conditions, operating procedures, and specific instructions.

Conduct pre-flight inspections, including verification of weight distribution and fuel compliance.

Prepare or supervise the development of flight plans, accounting for aircraft performance, weight and balance, route, altitude, terrain, weather, and navigational requirements.

Promptly report all suspected FAA violations or safety concerns to the Flight Department Manager or Chief Pilot.

Ensure all passengers receive appropriate safety briefings and that emergency equipment and cargo are properly secured.

Document all flight logs and company tracking forms accurately.

Communicate maintenance discrepancies to personnel and provide updates on aircraft status.

Operate company, personal, or rental vehicles as required for business duties.
Qualifications

Required Certifications:
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Airplane, Multiengine Land Rating; First Class Medical Certificate; Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit (FCC); Valid State Driver's License.

Flight Experience:
Minimum of 5,000 hours total pilot flight time and 2,500 hours of multiengine turbine time.

Operational Expertise:
Proven experience in aircraft requiring a two-pilot crew concept.

Safety Record:
Zero FAA accidents, incidents, or violations preferred.

Preferred Education & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree; experience with large-cabin aircraft; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent CRM skills; ability to successfully complete required aircraft type rating courses; superior customer service and communication skills in English.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds overhead.

Work Environment:
Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays; must be self-motivated, professional, and attentive to detail.
