Horizon Air, a leading regional carrier for Alaska Airlines, is seeking motivated individuals to join its Pilot Development Program. This program offers aspiring pilots a structured pathway to becoming a First Officer (FO) with Horizon Air, operating throughout the Western United States, with a primary base in Seattle, WA, and other key locations including Boise, ID, Las Vegas, NV, Anchorage, AK, Spokane, WA, Everett, WA, and Portland, OR. Participants will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, preparing them for a fulfilling career as a regional airline pilot.

About the Role

The Pilot Development Program is designed for aspiring pilots interested in a career with Horizon Air. As a pilot for this regional carrier, the successful candidate will operate aircraft throughout the West, utilizing advanced avionics within a close-knit team environment. The program provides dedicated training, mentorship, and a clear career path towards a First Officer position. Upon reaching ATP minimums, pilots commit to a minimum of two years of service with Horizon Air. The role involves active participation in program-specific activities and adherence to high operational standards.

  • Attend scheduled program-specific meetings as required.
  • Participate in scheduled check-in meetings with the program director every six months.
  • Complete monthly surveys detailing flight hours.

Requirements

Candidates for the Pilot Development Program must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Possess an active Private Pilot License.
  • Hold a valid, unexpired FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Maintain a valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Hold a valid US driver's license.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide accurate and complete flight records, including logbooks.
  • Successfully complete the Pilot Development Program in accordance with its established guidelines, which is a prerequisite for a Horizon Air First Officer position.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess and maintain a valid passport allowing unrestricted travel, without a Temporary Resident Permit, to and from the U.S.
