Horizon Air, the regional carrier for Alaska Airlines, invites aspiring pilots to join its Pilot Development Program. This unique program offers pilot students a structured pathway towards a rewarding career as a First Officer, operating across the beautiful Western United States, with key operations based in Seattle, WA, and other strategic locations.

About the Role

The Pilot Development Program is designed for dedicated pilot students seeking a direct path to a First Officer position with Horizon Air. Participants will receive comprehensive training, mentorship, and a clear career progression, culminating in a commitment to serve Horizon Air for a minimum of two years upon reaching ATP minimums. As a program participant, individuals will engage in scheduled program-specific meetings, regular check-ins with the program director every six months, and complete monthly surveys of flight hours. This program is an integral step towards becoming a skilled regional airline pilot, flying with advanced avionics as part of a close-knit flight operations team known for its skill and strong company culture.

Requirements

To be considered for the Pilot Development Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Possess an active Private Pilot License.
• Hold a valid, unexpired FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Maintain a valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Have a valid US driver’s license.
• Demonstrate the ability to provide accurate flight records, including logbooks.
• Be prepared to successfully complete the pilot development program in accordance with program guidelines, a prerequisite for the Horizon First Officer position.
• Be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Possess and maintain a valid passport allowing unrestricted travel, without a Temporary Resident Permit, to and from the U.S.
