Horizon Air is seeking a dedicated Flight Attendant to join their team, operating flights regionally throughout the West. This role emphasizes creating exceptional inflight experiences while prioritizing safety and upholding high standards of service. The position is based in Portland, Oregon, with opportunities for relocation to various flight attendant bases.
About the Role
As the representative of Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant will serve as an authentic and gracious host. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of inflight service duties and safety procedures. The successful candidate will maintain a positive and approachable demeanor with both guests and colleagues, contributing to an airline that customers love. This is a union-represented, full-time, non-exempt position.
Key Duties

Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations.

Verify that all safety equipment on aircraft is in working order.

Greet passengers, assist with seating, baggage stowage, and security.

Explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.

Prepare and serve meals, beverages, including alcohol.

Market and process sales of onboard products using a mobile device.

Calmly resolve passenger situations, including medical emergencies.

Answer questions regarding flight operations and provide destination information.

Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.

Uncompromising dedication to safety.

Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions (e.g., jump seat, harness, cabin aisle, emergency exits).

Ability to meet the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.

Ability to demonstrate the physical capability to perform flight attendant duties.

Ability to relocate to flight attendant bases including Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.

Willingness to serve alcohol.

Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.

Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability and willingness to travel extensively.

Adaptability to perform various duties and function effectively under stress.

Able to attend 4 weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.

Possess and/or obtain a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States. Employees with non-U.S. passports require appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted into and out of Canada.

Completion of a self-guided voice interview (approximately 30-40 minutes) must be completed by October 25 at 7:00 PM (Pacific Time) for the application to be considered.

Tattoos must adhere to company policy: no visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest. One tattoo per hand, no larger than a quarter. Tattoos in other areas cannot be larger than a credit card or offensive. Employees can have one tattoo per arm/leg/foot/back of neck/behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if not visible when looking directly at a person. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch; makeup is not permitted.
