Horizon Air | Flight Attendant

Horizon Air is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as Flight Attendants, operating regionally throughout the West. This role involves creating exceptional inflight experiences while prioritizing safety and professionalism.

About the Role

As the representative of Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant serves as an authentic and gracious host. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of inflight service duties and emergency safety procedures. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive and approachable demeanor towards both guests and colleagues, contributing to an airline that people love. This is a union-represented, full-time, non-exempt position.

Key Duties

• Adhere to and comply with all safety regulations.
• Ensure all safety equipment on aircraft is operational.
• Greet passengers, assist with seating, baggage stowage, and security.
• Explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
• Prepare and serve meals, beverages, and process onboard sales.
• Calmly resolve passenger situations, including medical emergencies.
• Answer questions regarding flight operations and provide destination information.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.
• Unwavering commitment to safety.
• Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions (e.g., jump seat, harness, cabin aisle, emergency exits).
• Ability to meet the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
• Physical ability to perform flight attendant duties.
• Willingness to relocate to any flight attendant base: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
• Willingness to serve alcohol.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
• Adaptability to perform various duties and perform effectively under stress.
• Ability to attend 4 weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States, and any necessary travel documentation for non-U.S. passports. Must be able to fly unrestricted in and out of Canada.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Completion of a self-guided voice interview (approximately 30-40 minutes) in a quiet location is required for application consideration. This step must be completed by October 25 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.
• Ability to pass a post-offer and/or pre-employment drug test as per DOT regulations.

Additional Details

• Training is paid and conducted in Portland, OR, for four weeks.
• Tattoo policy: No visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest. One tattoo no larger than a quarter allowed per hand. Other tattoos cannot exceed the size of a credit card or be offensive. Employees can have one tattoo per arm/leg/foot/back of neck/behind each ear, provided back of neck and behind-ear tattoos are not visible when looking directly at a person. Tattoos must be covered with uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches; makeup is not permitted for coverage.
• Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA Badge. Failure to qualify for or maintain a SIDA badge will result in termination.
