Position Overview

Horizon Air is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Flight Attendants. As the face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, the successful candidate will serve as an authentic and gracious host, providing signature inflight experiences across our regional network in the West. This position is union-represented and requires a steadfast commitment to safety, service excellence, and professional representation of the airline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain full compliance with all safety regulations and ensure all onboard safety equipment is operational.
  • Manage passenger interactions, including boarding assistance, seating, stowage of carry-on items, and security checks.
  • Conduct safety briefings and demonstrations regarding emergency procedures and equipment usage.
  • Provide inflight service, including the preparation and distribution of meals, beverages, and alcohol.
  • Promote and sell onboard products using mobile device technology.
  • Resolve passenger concerns professionally, including responding to medical emergencies.
  • Provide passengers with flight information and destination-specific guidance.
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer or community service.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a current passport with unlimited travel access, including the ability to fly unrestricted in and out of Canada.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must pass a 40-minute audio assessment as part of the application process.
  • Successful completion of a 4-week paid training program in Portland, OR.
  • Physical ability to perform flight attendant duties, including meeting aircraft dimension requirements (e.g., jump seats, cabin aisles, emergency exits).
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to relocate to designated bases, including Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with mobile technology.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining an Airport SIDA badge.
  • Adherence to company grooming, uniform, and tattoo policies.

Total Rewards and Compensation

This is a non-exempt, full-time position. The first-year step rate is $20.66 per hour, governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Horizon Air and the AFA. Total rewards include:
