About the Role

Horizon Air is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to all aviation safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain the operational readiness and safety compliance of all onboard equipment.
  • Provide a warm and welcoming experience for passengers, assisting with seating, baggage, and security protocols.
  • Clearly demonstrate the use of safety equipment and explain emergency procedures.
  • Prepare and serve a range of food and beverage options, including alcoholic beverages.
  • Effectively promote and process sales of onboard products and services using mobile devices.
  • Calmly and professionally manage passenger situations, including medical emergencies, during flight.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight operations and provide destination information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a smooth and safe flight operation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience in customer service or community engagement.
  • An unwavering commitment to safety and passenger well-being.
  • Ability to meet specific aircraft dimensions for equipment such as jump seats and emergency exits.
  • Compliance with the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
  • Demonstrated physical capability to perform all flight attendant duties.
  • Willingness to relocate to any of Horizon Air's flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
  • Willingness to serve alcohol.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations and comfortable with technology.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Adaptability to perform diverse duties and maintain effectiveness under pressure.
  • Availability to complete four (4) weeks of paid training in Portland, Oregon.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a current passport with unlimited international travel access. Non-U.S. passport holders must possess necessary travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted into and out of Canada.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Application Process

Prospective applicants must complete a self-guided voice interview, which requires approximately 30-40 minutes and a quiet environment. This crucial step must be completed by December 3rd at 7:00 PM Pacific Time for applications to be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a union-represented, non-exempt, full-time position. The starting wage is subject to the collective bargaining agreement. First-year step rate is $20.66 per hour. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive total rewards package, including standby travel privileges, medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401k contribution/match, bonus plans, and paid time off. Specific pay and benefits may vary by company, location, hours worked, and employment status.

Important Notes

  • Tattoo Policy: Visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest are prohibited. One quarter-sized or smaller tattoo is permitted per hand. Tattoos in other areas must not exceed credit card size or be offensive. Specific guidelines apply to tattoos on arms, legs, feet, back of the neck, and behind the ears. Makeup is not permitted for tattoo coverage.
  • SIDA Badge Requirements: Employees working at airports or maintenance hangars must obtain and maintain a SIDA badge. Failure to qualify for or maintain a SIDA badge will result in termination.
  • Drug Testing: As a government contractor regulated by the Department of Transportation, applicants will undergo post-offer, pre-employment drug testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, PCP, and amphetamines.
