Flight Attendant - Horizon Air

Horizon Air is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. In this vital role, the Flight Attendant serves as the face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, and is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers during regional flights throughout the West. Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and maintain full compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Verify the operational readiness of all onboard safety equipment.
  • Welcome passengers, assist with seating arrangements, stowage of carry-on baggage, and ensure passenger security.
  • Clearly explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of meals and beverages, including alcoholic options.
  • Effectively market and process sales of onboard products and services using a mobile device.
  • Calmly and effectively manage passenger situations, including medical emergencies, to ensure a safe and comfortable flight.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight operations and provide destination information.
  • Perform other assigned duties to support inflight operations.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of customer or community service experience.
  • An unwavering commitment to safety as the number-one priority.
  • Ability to meet specific aircraft dimension requirements for safety equipment and cabin access.
  • Compliance with the company’s grooming, uniform, and appearance standards, including a specific tattoo policy.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform all Flight Attendant duties.
  • Willingness to relocate to any of the designated Flight Attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
  • Willingness to serve alcohol.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and perform effectively under stress.
  • Must possess and/or obtain a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States, and any necessary travel documentation for international flights, including unrestricted travel to and from Canada.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Application Requirement: All applicants must complete a self-guided voice interview (approximately 30-40 minutes) in a quiet location. This must be completed by December 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time for the application to be considered.

Training Requirement: Successfully complete four (4) weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Rate: USD $0.00/Hr.

First Year Pay: $20.66 per hour, as per collective bargaining agreement.

Additional Information

Airport SIDA Badge: Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge. Failure to qualify for or maintain a SIDA badge may result in termination.
